Anchored To Self Or In Christ?

Every thing that can be shaken, shifted AND sifted is happening at this very moment. Now is not the time to question IF God be for you......Selah. You must KNOW that He IS for you and STABILIZE yourself IN HIM. Our true battle is always #Within....our #Mind, #Will and #Emotions. What is the significance in understanding the purpose of being anchored in this new decade?

Definition: An anchor is a device, normally made of metal, used to connect a vessel to the bed of a body of water to prevent the craft from drifting due to wind or current. The word derives from Latin ancora, which itself comes from the Greek ἄγκυρα (ankura).

An anchor is often referred to as a symbol of hope. When times get rough and situations seem desolate, we look for hope to make it through. But where does your hope lie? Is it in other people? Is it in systems that offer no true solutions? Is it in SELF? The purpose of the anchor is useless if it's not connected to the right source and properly used for its intended purpose! It will damage you AND the thing it's connected to (people, places and things).

The Anchor of Wisdom

There is a TREASURE that you receive when you are anchored in the Lord! Let's look at the following passage of Scripture.

"And He will be the security and stability of your times, A treasure of salvation, wisdom and knowledge; The fear of the Lord is your treasure." Isaiah 33:6 AMP

There are five facets of wisdom that we have access to:

  • skill (in war)

  • wisdom (in administration)

  • shrewdness

  • prudence (in religious affairs)

  • wisdom (ethical and religious)

Wisdom anchors us to the wisdom that comes from God and not our shallow thinking. His wisdom gives us the solutions we need to the problem we are facing. His wisdom also teaches us about his thoughts and his ways on LIFE. We often question our journey. I know that I did! But once I began to get an understanding of His thoughts towards me, I was able to take on his mind concerning the situation at hand. And it wasn't as bad as I projected in my own mind to be. It really WAS working for my good!

I pray that part one of this blog series was a blessing to you! Subscribe today and be the first to receive Part 2 on next week! If you are feeling fearful and hopeless, I encourage you to check your Anchor.
